How NeverMiss uses artificial intelligence and how we meet the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act.
NeverMiss is an AI-powered phone assistant for doctor's and dental practices. The system answers calls, understands callers' requests in natural language and books appointments into the practice's calendar. It uses speech recognition and speech synthesis as well as a language model.
Under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, systems that interact directly with people must be designed so that the individuals concerned are informed that they are communicating with an AI. NeverMiss implements this by explicitly pointing out the AI assistant at the start of the call.
At the caller's request, and for urgent or complex matters, NeverMiss forwards the call to the practice team or leaves a callback note. The decision on whether and how to proceed always rests with the practice.
The assistant makes no medical assessments and gives no diagnoses or treatment recommendations. It only books appointments within the rules defined by the practice and forwards requests.
Calls and personal data are processed encrypted and on servers in the EU. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with the practices. You can find details in ourprivacy policy.
The transparency obligations under Article 50 of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) apply from 2 August 2026. NeverMiss already meets this disclosure obligation today.
